Top 5 Food Delivery Services on Android in UAE Q1 2022

In Q1 2022, the top five food delivery service applications on the Android platform in the United Arab Emirates showcased diverse trends in downloads and active users. Below, we break down the performance of each app based on Sensor Tower data.

Food, grocery & more saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 13K in early January and peaking at approximately 15.5K by mid-March. Active user numbers fluctuated slightly but generally hovered around the 210K to 220K range, with a notable dip to about 202K in early February before rising back to 219K by the end of March.

Deliveroo: Food & Shopping experienced a significant spike in downloads around mid-February, reaching about 14.5K. However, this was followed by a decline to approximately 4.2K by the end of March. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 43K and 47K throughout the quarter.

Smiles UAE saw an increase in downloads, peaking at around 9.8K in early March before declining to about 5.3K by the end of the month. Active users also saw a rise, reaching a high of approximately 31K in early March, but then declining to around 24K by the end of March.

NowNow by noon: Grocery & more had a peak in downloads in early February with about 8.9K, but this dropped significantly to roughly 1.4K by mid-March. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at around 17.8K in early February and then falling to approximately 9K by mid-March before a slight recovery to about 10K by the end of March.

InstaShop: Grocery Delivery saw a steady increase in downloads from around 2.8K at the start of January to approximately 6.8K in early February, followed by a decline to about 3.5K by the end of March. Active users peaked at around 30.5K in early February, with fluctuations leading to a slight decline to approximately 26K by the end of March.
